About the Digital Painting Forum

Marilyn Sholin began the Digital Painting Forum in April 2005. The reason she began it is that as she was using Corel Painter and speaking and teaching the software worldwide she realized there was no real home for the art of turning photographs into paintings. She also had a wealth of information, links and internet sites she kept losing track of herself. Being part business woman and part artist, her desk and organizational skills always lacked a “little something”. So the idea was to start a forum that originally was going to be mainly for her students and friends and to put all that information in one place for easy access.

So she began the forum simply and then it grew, and GREW and GREW!!! It has grown into an evolving and exciting site where digital artists and mixed media artists from all over the world now come daily to share their work, get help on a project either personal or commissioned or even share a joke or a great website find. This site is a wonderful place for both beginners and experienced artists. Everyone helps each other. It is also one of the very few places that mixes the ART of SELLING ART with the CREATION of the ART.

Because the site is a fee based forum, it means we have protected your work, strive to keep out spammers, keep the internet search engines out of our protected pages and we know all our members and keep a close daily watch on the site. We are going to work hard to always keep this site exciting for you. We have exciting prizes for challenges, fun challenges that are for stretching your creativity and we always look to bring the best freebies to you also.

Please consider joining us. After you register and validate your registration when you log onto the forum you will be presented with the payment option you chose when you registered. Our fee structure is small and simple. Forum membership fees are currently $49 per year and $75 for two years.

We hope you decide to stay and join us. To join, simply visit this page to view the rules and begin the registration process.

Warm Wishes to Paint Outside the Frame!
